Senior PHP (CodeIgniter) Developer – Existing System Development

Job Description

Developers Plus Company announces its need for an experienced Senior PHP (CodeIgniter) Developer with years of hands-on experience to work on expanding and optimizing an existing web application. The developer will be responsible for maintaining existing codebases, implementing new features, optimizing performance, and ensuring system stability and security.

Responsibilities

• Proven working experience of at least 4–5 years in web development using PHP and CodeIgniter (CI3 / CI4 preferred).

• Deep understanding of MVC Architecture and object-oriented programming (OOP).

• Strong database experience with MySQL / MariaDB (Optimization, Indexing, and Complex Queries).

• Solid knowledge of front-end web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and Bootstrap.

• Extensive experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs (JSON / XML).

• Proficient with version control systems like Git / GitHub / GitLab.

• Ability to quickly comprehend, refactor, and build upon legacy code.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under tight schedules.

Requirements

• Review, analyze, and maintain the existing codebase while adding new system features.

• Develop robust modules and RESTful APIs using the CodeIgniter framework.

• Optimize database queries (MySQL) to ensure maximum speed and scalability.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to prevent security vulnerabilities.

• Refactor legacy code using clean code principles and industry design patterns.

• Collaborate effectively with the team to deliver high-quality solutions within specified project deadlines.
